Hotels magazine recently ran an article about the growing popularity of wine and how some properties are embracing this new trend with programs and menus that cater to wine aficionados and novices alike. At the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, we’ve seen this trend explode among our guests, which is why we started offering a premium wine program in late May.
Developed in partnership with Wine Spectator’s premier wine experts, Sheraton Social Hour offers hotel guests an opportunity to relax, socialize and sample some top-rated wines while learning more about renowned wineries from around the world. Tasting events are held weekdays from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in our 15 Fifty Lounge, where guests have access to a specially curated menu of premium wines rated 90 and above by Wine Spectator. Different wines are featured throughout the promotion, with two-ounce samples provided in upscale Reidel stemware to enhance the wine’s flavor and aroma. The cost is $5 per person for each two-ounce tasting.
Along with the new wine tasting program, Sheraton Hotels and Resorts also launched “Sheraton Selects,” an upgraded premium wine menu featuring a rotation of eight or more wines that are considered good values by Wine Spectator. The wines are rated above 85 with at least four of them 90-plus, and featured wineries include Chateau Ste. Michelle, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Northstar, Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte and Eroica.
