In a few weeks, the CEO and 25 other employees from our parent company Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will embark on a four-day bike ride from Chamonix, France to Monte Carlo called “The Road the Awareness.” This marks the fifth year Starwood executives and associates will participate in the bike ride challenge, which raises money for the UNICEF Early Childhood Care and Education program in Ethiopia.
The 354-mile route will take participants through some of the most challenging, high-altitude climbs from the Tour de France – and who better to train them Sheraton Fitness partner Mark Verstegen, founder of Athlete’s Performance and Core Performance! To prepare for the event, each team member is currently riding 186 miles per week in addition to other training.
